    WA hospital data explorer

Explore emergency department presentations across financial years. I built the data preparation, map and accessible table from public AIHW and ABS data. Inspect the method, download the snapshot and reproduce a value offline.

An example data workflow, not a commissioned hospital deployment. The snapshot uses a latest-year hospital cohort; presentation counts do not measure waiting times or hospital performance.

    AIHW MyHospitals API clients

Access Australian hospital data from code. John’s repository provides unofficial Rust, Python and R clients for the AIHW MyHospitals API. Inspect the source, examples and licence to assess fit; this listing does not establish production readiness or ongoing support.

    WA data MCP repository

Connect AI tools to searchable open-data catalogues. John’s public repository is a fork of ondata’s CKAN MCP server. The underlying connector is upstream work; no original connector implementation, production readiness or agency deployment is claimed here.

    OpenElectricity client in Rust

Read Australian electricity market data from Rust. OpenElectricity publishes generation, demand, prices and emissions for the National Electricity Market and Western Australia’s market through an API. I wrote an async Rust client for it, modelled on OpenElectricity’s official TypeScript client: it covers that client’s seven endpoints and their filters, keeps missing readings and unknown fields rather than dropping them, and is tested against local mock servers.

An optional local gateway lets OpenElectricity’s own web app run against the Rust client during development. The API, the data and the TypeScript client are OpenElectricity’s; this is unofficial, isn’t on crates.io yet and isn’t a hosted service.

Research experience

John’s personal experience includes data analysis and reproducible HPC workflows in paediatric health research. See the founder’s background. This is personal experience rather than a separately published company project.
